We are CCOF certified and do all the maintenance, harvesting and marketing ourselves and strive to produce the finest local fruit available.

Coke Farm – Certified Organic
Coke Farm has been producing organically grown fruits and vegetables for over twenty-five years. In 1981, founder Dale Coke was prompted by a doubting conventional farmer, who speculated that strawberries could not be grown organically. Dale planted his first strawberries in August of 1981 on the home ranch near Aromas, California. The plants produced successfully and a local natural foods store became the first Coke Farm customer. Dale started planting more crops and joined the Santa Cruz chapter of C.C.O.F. (California Certified Organic Farmers).

Massa Organics – Certified Organic almonds, rice, and wheat flour.
Massa Organics is a 4th generation California rice farm. In 1997 Greg Massa and family took over the farm. Stewardship of the air, water and land became our primary focus, something we continue to take seriously today. For example, we have installed recirculation systems to reclaim our irrigation water, and do not burn any crop residue. We have planted native oak trees along field borders, and have installed nest boxes for wood ducks, barn owls, American kestrels, and bats. Future plans include the creation of waterfowl and shorebird habitat WITHIN our rice fields–an idea unheard of in rice production today.

Pacific Crest Apiaies – The finest of local honey.
Over 60 years ago, Ed Mumm, Sr. tended his first beehive. Having so many years’ experience might constitute an award for “hanging in there” through thick ‘n thin.

For Ed, these days, tending honeybees is like breathing: it just occurs naturally.Of course he does have a schedule, sort of. His schedule doesn’t necessarily include any calendar of the “whens” or “wheres” of keeping our honeybees. I guess you could say that his special schedule is in his heart and soul: it’s a part of his spirit.

Snyders Honey – Raw Unfiltered Honies
Bill and Ann do not chemically treat their beehives for the varroa mite, perhaps the most significant apiary pest. Instead, they have employed various methods to prevent the mite from harming their bees, including Integrated Pest Management (I.P.M.) techniques such as screened hive bottoms, natural essential oils and, most importantly, breeding their bees to be mite-tolerant. Essential oil treatment is applied once a year after all honey has been extracted; this generally takes place in the autumn before the bees ‘retire’ for the winter.

Straus Family Creamery – Organic Creamery
Straus Family Creamery is a small, family-owned, organic creamery which produces milk, ice cream, yogurt, and butter with milk sourced from our own dairy and from two other local, family dairies. Our cows graze in our fields from Spring through Fall (when the rains stop). Each cow has over 2 acres of pasture to roam. During the Winter the cows are kept in an open-sided barn that allows them to move around or sleep in individual clean beds. Keeping the cows inside during the wet winter months keeps the fields from eroding and the cows from getting soil-borne infections or injuries from slippery conditions.
